Moss Vale Show 2001

November 5, 2001

RE : Media release : Goodmans Ford Landcare Group has a stall at the Moss Vale Show this weekend .

The Goodmans Ford Landcare Group has a stall at the Moss Vale Show this weekend , on the 16.3. till the 18.3.2001 .
We have an interesting display on Landcare and the activities of the Goodmans Ford Landcare Group . Our activities are wide spread and range from weed control , erosion control to stock theft issues and the design of a new road sign , that protects animals from getting killed on our roads .
For the development of this sign we have opened a competition for schools in the district to involve themselves in the design of the sign .More information about this can be obtained at the show .
A raffle will be held to raise funds for the group , and the prize will be a free weekend for two people on Wollondilly River Station , including a Camp Oven Dinner and a canoe for the weekend .
All funding of this group is done through our own fundraising activities which will be displayed at the show , as a model for other Landcare Groups .
An interesting display of traditional Australian Camp Oven Bush Cooking will be held all weekend by our members .
We hope to see you at the Moss Vale Show this weekend !

Our display of native plants sponsored by Warriapendi Nursery Colo Vale raised a lot of interest

Tree donation and planting at Moss Vale Show Ground :

Re: Tree planting at Moss Vale show ground by Goodmans Ford Landcare Group on the 12.2.2001
On the 12.2.2001 members of the Goodmans Ford Landcare Group donated and planted 70 trees along the northern end of the Moss Vale show ground just outside the show ring . The trees were bought at Warripendi Nursery in Hill Top, which also supported the Landcare movement at last years Moss Vale Show with a great display of native trees . Goodmans Ford Landcare Group members Brian and Ina Casburn , Cathy Robinson and Trina Deirossi were working together to plant the trees .
The project was supported by the Wollondilly Catchment Management Committee and their members Anne Sinnet and David Lemerle assisted with the tree planting . The Chairman of Goodmans Ford Landcare Group, Brian Casburn of Wollondilly River Station , is also an active member of the Wollondilly Catchment Management Committee and a part of the Wingecarribee Swamp Steering Committee .
The Moss Vale Show Society has been supporting Landcare over the last years and will continue to support it at the Moss Vale Show this year . Goodmans Ford Landcare Group will be at the Moss Vale Show this year together with the Wollondilly Catchment Management Committee and Wollondilly River Station .
All involved parties hope that the trees will grow well to improve the atmosphere and the environment at the Moss Vale Show Ground .
